About E-Liquid

E-liquid, also known as vape liquid or vape juice, is liquid that can be vaporized and then safely inhaled. All e-liquids feature the same three ingredients – vegetable glycerine (VG), propylene glycol (PG) and flavouring. Many are completed by nicotine.

E-liquids are available in a huge array of flavours and several nicotine strengths. All e-liquids offered by Vapekit are genuine, branded products that have been tested to ensure they are safe and conform to the latest vaping regulations.

How do you choose your e-liquid?

With so many brands, flavours, VG/PG ratios and nicotine strengths to consider, it can be hard to know where to start when choosing your e-liquid. Here’s what to think about:

What are shortfills?

In the UK, e-liquids that contain nicotine must be sold in volumes of no greater than 10ml. This means that you will need to purchase several bottles of juice each time you order. E-liquid manufacturers wished to offer vapers the opportunity to buy larger volumes of flavour in a single bottle and so introduced shortfills. These are under-filled bottles of nicotine-free e liquid to which you can add nicotine shots. Shortfills can represent good value and are certainly convenient. However, it is important to note that they tend to be high in VG and so suitable only for low resistance coils.

Ingredients in Vape Liquid

  • Vegetable Glycerine

The thick and sweet component responsible for producing dense vapour clouds. VG-rich blends offer smoother inhales, ideal for cloud chasers.
  • Distilled Water

Some e-liquids include distilled water to reduce viscosity, especially in high-VG blends. It helps improve wick absorption and prevents dry hits in some devices.
  • Food-Grade Flavourings

All vape liquids contain flavourings approved for ingestion, replicating everything from fresh fruits to bold desserts. These additives give each vape its signature profile and character.
  • Nicotine

Available in multiple strengths, nicotine is optional and caters to different preferences—from full strength to completely nicotine-free options for recreational vapers.

Frequently Asked Questions about E-Liquid

Do e-liquids expire?

E-liquids do have expiration dates and the shelf life of vape juice is around 2 years. However, use-by dates are a guide and e-liquid may degrade before or after those dates. After a certain period of time the constituents of e-liquids will start to break down. This can mean that flavours and aromas weaken. In addition, the nicotine in e-liquids can oxidise, causing them to become darker in colour. You can prolong the life of e-liquids by storing them appropriately. There is no evidence that vaping e-liquids that have expired is dangerous.

Where should you store e-liquid?

E-liquid will degrade quicker when exposed to bright sunlight or extreme temperatures. It is best store your e-liquids in a dark place such as a drawer or cupboard and at room temperature. Always keep e-liquids out of the reach of children and pets.

Should you steep e-liquid?

Like fine wines, e-liquids need to be left for a short period after they have been mixed so that their flavours can develop. This process is called steeping and is usually undertaken by the manufacturers. In other words, the e-liquids that you buy will already have been steeped. However, if you mix your own juice, you will need to steep it, but the length of time required varies according to the flavour profile. Fruit flavours take only a couple of days to steep whereas sweeter dessert flavours should be left to steep for around 2 weeks.
