Is E Liquid The Same As Vape Juice?

But you will also encounter unique terminology that can be incredibly confusing.

Electronic cigarettes and e liquids are relatively new innovations that have inspired a great deal of jargon that can be somewhat mystifying to the uninitiated.

For instance, you might be wondering what vape juice is and whether it is the same thing as e liquid.

Well, we can tell you that vape juice is simply another term for e liquid and there are several more! You may see e liquid referred to as juice, e juice, e-juice, e cig liquid, sauce or juice sauce. We are sure there are further terms for e liquid and that new ones will appear over time.

So, now you know that vape juice is the same thing as e-liquid, but what exactly is e liquid?

What is e liquid?

All electronic cigarettes work in roughly the same way. They feature batteries to provide power, heating coils and reservoirs for e liquid. Those reservoirs could be tanks or pods. When the devices are fired, the vape coils heat up and vaporise a little of the e liquid. The resulting vapour can be inhaled via the mouthpieces of the e cigs.

Every bottle of vape juice features just four ingredients. These are propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), flavouring and nicotine. E liquid for vaping is available in thousands of flavours, with different types of nicotine and with a variety of nicotine strengths.

How do you choose the right e liquid for your device?

If you think your vaping experience isn't up to expectations, it might be worth checking your e liquid bottle to make sure your PG and VG ratio is suited to your vape kit. It is worth noting that the ratio of VG to PG in e liquids varies. This is because some vaping devices feature coils with high resistances and some feature coils with low resistances. Low resistance (sub ohm) coils get much hotter than high resistance coils and are suited to e liquids that boast a high ratio of VG. Sub ohm set-ups deliver large amounts of vapour known as clouds.

However, most vapers begin their journeys withpod kits, vape starter kits or vape pensthat have high resistance coils (coils with resistances of at least 1.0ohm). These devices are compatible with e liquids that are high in PG, and they produce discreet vapour.

To complicate matters, many of the latest devices feature coils that have resistances of 0.6ohm to 0.9ohm. While these are technically sub ohm coils as they have resistances below 1.0ohm, they represent the middle ground and can struggle with high VG vape juice. A raft of 50:50 e liquids that contain an equal amount of VG and PG have appeared as a result. These are ideal for 0.6ohm to 0.9ohm coils and include nic salts flavours.

What are nic salts e liquids?

E liquids containing nicotine may use either freebase nicotine or salt nicotine (nic salts). Freebase nicotine gives you more noticeable throat hits while salt nicotine provides smoother throat hits and speedier relief of your cravings. You will also come across hybrid nicotine which is a blend of freebase and nicotine salts that gives you the best of both worlds.
