What is High VG E Liquid?

E liquids feature four ingredients – flavour concentrate, nicotine, vegetable glycerine (VG) and propylene glycol (PG). The VG/PG ratios of e liquids vary. PG carries flavour well and provides more noticeable throat hits while VG boasts a slightly sweeter taste and delivers more impressive clouds. High VG e liquids are those that have bases that are at least 60% VG (60VG/40PG). Most high VG e liquids are 70VG/30PG, but some are as much as 90% VG.

The low resistance coils found in mouth to lung (MTL) devices do not cope well with e liquids that are high in VG. For this reason, high VG e liquids are suitable only for sub ohm e cigs. While the term sub ohm refers to coils with a resistance of 1.0ohm or less, high VG e liquids are best suited to coils with a resistance of 0.6ohm or less.
