The Difference between Elfa and Elfa Pro

It seems like only yesterday that the Elf Bar Elfa came out, but there’s a new sheriff in town — the Elf Bar Elfa PRO Pod Kit. Or, to give it its more common and concise title, the Elfa PRO.

This model’s release reflects the surge in innovation within the vaping industry, and it is designed to offer vapers more options in terms of flavour and technology.

But how does it compare to the Elfa? And is it noticeably better?

We’ll reveal all in this article by assessing both models for their design, performance, and user experience.

In this article

1. Design and technology

2. Flavour and vapour production

3. Battery capacity and power output

4. The verdict — which kit is better?

Design and technology

Both kits are sleek, compact, and lightweight, and both have the same distinct cylindrical Elfa shape.

The Elfa PRO is almost a carbon copy of the original Elf Bar but with the added benefit of a detachable pod and a charging point.

The Elfa and Elfa PRO are the same size at 10.5 cm (h) x 1.5cm (w) and the same weight at 31g.

Elfa PRO Pod Kit

Therefore, both devices are ideal if you’re looking for a pocket-friendly kit that you can take out and about.

They are both capable of holding up to 2 ml of e liquid, and they both feature built-in mesh coils.

Although both devices also feature a duckbill-style mouthpiece, the Elfa PRO’s mouthpiece is slightly wider than the Elfa’s, and the Elfa PRO boasts a larger airflow hole.

The Elfa PRO is available in 12 colour options, which is twice as many as the Elfa is available in. This is a major selling point if you like your jazzier colours.

However, the biggest difference is the Elfa PRO’s new pod design. Whereas the Elfa comes with opaque pods, the Elfa PRO has transparent pods, allowing you to easily see how much liquid you’ve got left. You no longer have to guess whether or not your pod is empty and get a dry hit when your guess is wrong!

Another newer feature of the Elfa PRO that sets it apart from the Elfa is its e liquid separation technology. This keeps the e liquid fresh by separating it from the coil until activation, which improves its flavour, consistency, and longevity.

Then there’s the Elfa PRO’s QUAQ mesh coil technology, which further enhances the flavour of the liquid inside your kit (we cover this in more detail in the next section).

All in all, while the two devices look identical, the Elfa PRO is the clear winner when it comes to technology.

Flavour and vapour production

The Elfa pods and Elfa PRO pods are both available in 30 flavours at the time of writing. You can get all the classics within both ranges, including Watermelon, Blueberry, Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava, and Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice.

However, with the Elfa PRO pods, you get some new flavours that are exclusive to the range, such as:

  • Blueberry Snoow: Also known as Berry Jam, this flavour tastes like pastry and homemade jam. It is juicy, tarty, and moreish.
  • Strawberry Snoow: This flavour tastes like strawberries mixed with vanilla ice cream and has a chilly kick to it.
  • Pineapple Lemon Qi: This flavour combines sweet, juicy pineapple and tangy lemon, with fizzy soda notes on the exhale.

So, while you have a huge range of choices whichever device you go for, the Elfa PRO pods shade it with these additional flavours. (Although you don’t have to purchase the PRO to enjoy these flavours, as the PRO pods are compatible with the original Elfa.)

The Elfa PRO also has a slight edge in terms of vapour production thanks to its advanced QUAQ mesh coil technology. The built-in 1.2 ohm QUAQ tech mesh coil delivers improved flavour due to its large surface area and highly absorbent wicking material. It is specifically designed to maximise the surface area that comes into contact with the e liquid.

This feature enhances the flavour and increases the amount of vapour produced during each puff.

Battery capacity and power output

The Elfa and Elfa PRO have exactly the same battery capacity at 500 mAh, and the battery is rechargeable.

This capacity is enough to last you several hours between charges, and you’ll get 500 to 600 puffs out of it.

The verdict — which is better?

While the Elf Bar Elfa and Elfa PRO kits look virtually identical, and both devices are aesthetically pleasing and pocket-friendly, the Elfa PRO is the clear winner. This is due to its advanced technology, superior flavour and vapour production, and flavour variety.

The QUAQ mesh coil technology and transparent pods will significantly improve your overall vaping experience and are the standout features of the Elfa PRO.

We’ll leave the final word on this to Clare Fitzpatrick, one of our verified customers:

“I loved the old version, but this new one is great too. It charges really quickly, the pods taste smoother, and it has a great selection of flavours!

This is the only device so far that has helped me cut down on smoking tobacco. I have tried a lot of different vapes over the years, but this one is perfect!”
