About Beginners Vape Kits

There is a dizzying array of vape kits to choose from boasting a raft of benefits, technological features and complex functions. But you don’t need the advanced, capable of doing everything except making the tea kind of equipment at the outset! All electronic cigarettes basically work the same way. They are comprised of a battery to supply power, coils which heat up to vaporise your e-liquid and a reservoir to hold the e-liquid. So far, so simple!

It is possible to invest in advanced vape kits which enable you to control the power output of the device and the temperature of the coils. You can choose coils with lower resistances to deliver more impressive vapour and there are e cigs which enable you to adjust pretty much everything except the kitchen sink. But you don’t need this complex functionality to enjoy vaping and to help you quit smoking.

All About Beginner Starter Kits

So, what is a beginner starter kit? Well, it is a device which is easy to use and which does not feature confusing and complex functionality which could bamboozle you before you take your first puff. It is an electronic cigarette which is easy to set-up and which enables you to start vaping in minutes and in safety. Many starter kits offer single button operation or inhale activation and you can’t get easier than that! Most kits will include the battery, the tank or pod, the atomiser head (coil) and that all-important instruction booklet! In other words, everything you need!

With beginners' vape kits kits, functionality, vaping experience and styling varies. There will be a kit which is perfect for you and it might not be the first one that you try. Every vaper is an individual. Just as smokers gravitate to different brands, vapers have personal preferences when it comes to their equipment. Here’s what to consider before making your choice:

Battery capacity – if you have just given up smoking or are about to, you may find yourself clinging to your e cig with great gusto and for most of the day whilst taking frequent puffs. The more you vape the quicker the battery will die. If that worries you and you don’t want to carry spares around, choose a kit with a powerful battery. Battery power is measure in milliamp hours (mAh). The higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last.

Vape while charging – kits feature rechargeable batteries and most batteries are built-in. In other words, you can't replace them. You simply connect the charger to the device when you need to recharge. Vape while charging technology is a useful innovation as you are able to continue vaping when your battery is flat wherever you have access to a power source.

Shape and Style – Your battery will be housed in a casing in which the control buttons you need to turn the device on and off and to fire the coils are also accommodated. Beginners’ kits will include either a cylindrical battery which creates a pen-shaped device or a rectangular box mod. The latter tends to deliver more power and to offer greater functionality. Devices are available in a variety of colours and finishes to suit your taste.

Clearomizers and Atomiser Heads – Don’t panic! We don’t intend to get too technical here! Some vape kits feature a tank or pod with a replaceable unit called an atomiser head which incorporates the heating coil. These heads are usually referred to simply as coils. Those coils need to be changed every so often and with this type of device, you remove the used atomiser head and slot in a new one. But you could choose a kit featuring a pod or clearomizer with a built-in coil. With this type of set-up, when the coil reaches the end of its life, you simply replace pod.

Power and Resistance – The output capability of electronic cigarettes varies as does the resistance of the compatible coils. Coils with lower resistances produce enhanced flavour and vapour but consume more battery power and e-liquid. Beginners' kits are generally supplied with coils which have resistances that are optimal for the power output of the battery. You won't need to worry about inputting the right setting. Resistances are expressed in ohms.

What is the Difference Between Beginners' and Advanced Kit?

This is something of a grey area! Vape kits don’t fall neatly into one category or the other as there is a huge array of options. It is hard to say when the complexity of a device means that it best suited to advanced users. What one vaper finds simple and straightforward might be difficult for another beginner to get to grips with.

We feel that it is the presence of a screen which generally characterises intermediate and advanced equipment. A digital display is only necessary if the electronic cigarette requires the user to make adjustments themselves or to set the operating mode.

The starter kits that we showcase here are mainly incredibly simple devices which do not require you to adjust anything at all. Anyone could learn to use them quickly. Having said that, we have sneaked in the odd exception with greater functionality which we feel remains sufficiently user-friendly.
